Mindy Sommers's husband, Jay, was admitted to St. Mary's Hospital in Madison after complaining of chest pains. He died of a dissecting aortic aneurysm—a rupture of the inner layer of the aorta—a few days later, shortly after being released from the hospital by his treating physician, Dr. Lisa Friedman. Sommers sued Friedman, claiming that she was negligent in caring for and treating her husband while he was hospitalized, and she appeals from...
