In the present case, defendant, Ronald J. Shillow, was arrested for distribution of crack cocaine within one thousand feet of school property. After trial on the merits, defendant was convicted as charged and sentenced to the minimum sentence allowable of fifteen years hard labor without benefit of probation, parole, or suspension of sentence and a fine of $15,000.00.
