The defendant appeals from a judgment of conviction, rendered after a jury trial, of possession of narcotics with the intent to sell in violation of General Statutes § 21a-277 (a).1 The defendant claims that the trial court improperly (1) admitted into evidence a prior conviction identical to the crime charged, (2) imposed a fine on him despite his apparent indigence, and (3) charged the jury on reasonable doubt.
