The defendant was charged with the crime of murder in violation of General Statutes § 53a-54a. After a trial by a jury of twelve, the defendant was found not guilty of murder but was found guilty of the lesser included offense of manslaughter in the first degree in violation of General Statutes § 53a-55 (a) (3).
