The defendant was convicted, after a trial to the court, of attempted murder in violation of General Statutes §§ 53a-54a (a) and 53a-49 and carrying a pistol without a permit in violation of General Statutes §§ 29-35 and 29-37 (b). He was arrested after the police entered his house with probable cause for an arrest, but without an arrest warrant and without his consent.
