This is a direct appeal by the defendant, Kenneth L. Friberg, from his convictions of aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer and aggravated battery against a law enforcement officer, contrary to K.S.A. 21-3411 and K.S.A. 21-3415. The defendant received a controlling sentence of 20 years to life.
