BAKER, J.

Leann Johnson sued King County for the wrongful death of her husband Timothy Johnson, alleging the County negligently released from prison the man responsible for her husband's death. She appeals the trial court's order granting King County's motion for summary judgment. Because the County owed no special duty to the decedent, and the accident which resulted in the death of Timothy Johnson was too attenuated to establish legal causation, we affirm.
