Alvin Jenkins appeals his conviction for first-degree murder, in violation of section 940.01, Stats. (1985-86).1 He raises two issues. First, he contends that the trial court should not have received into evidence the recitation by a former assistant district attorney of a statement made by the victim's three-year-old son four days after the murder.
