In December 1988, Maryon Capers Ferguson was diagnosed as having inoperable lung cancer. On January 24, 1989, Ferguson executed his last will and testament in which he made various bequests, including a $10,000 bequest to Chester Capers Ferguson, Jr., his grandson and only surviving heir-at-law, and a bequest of $5,000 to Vonceil NeSmith, a friend who had helped care for Ferguson until his death. Ferguson names his sister Anna Belle Ferguson Ellerbee...
