The government appeals from a district court order suppressing a series of post-arrest statements made by defendant Pasquale Barone. The court found that Barone's right to cut off questioning about a Boston homicide was not "scrupulously honored" by law enforcement officers and that, consequently, they had violated his Fifth Amendment right to remain silent.
