Plaintiffs-appellees brought this action against Jefferson County, Alabama, to secure protection, and to redress deprivation of rights under Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, 42 U.S.C. Sections 2000e et seq. The plaintiffs were all employed as housekeepers at defendant's Jefferson County Home facility. Each of the plaintiffs was discharged for the articulated reason of neglect of duty related to excessive absenteeism...
