The United States brings this action under Section 107(a) of the Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation and Liability Act ("CERCLA"), 42 U.S.C. § 9607(a), to recover costs incurred during a hazardous waste remedial action at the Summit Equipment Supplies, Inc. ("SES") facility in Akron, Ohio. The United States has sued six primary defendants: SES, Benjamin Hirsch, Michael Hirsch, Owens-Illinois...
