The instant appeal was brought by Elic Gilliam ("Elic") and his son Roy Lee Gilliam ("Roy Lee") (collectively, the "Gilliams") who were convicted in a jury trial of multiple counts of money laundering, conspiracy, and intent to distribute marijuana and cocaine.
