The defendant, L.C. Hamilton, was charged with and was subsequently convicted by jury of two counts of distribution of cocaine, in violation of LSA-R.S. 40:967. The defendant was later sentenced to ten years at hard labor without benefit of parole, probation, or suspension of sentence on each count, the sentences to be served consecutively.
