Defendants Ramon Castro-Lara (Castro) and Abraham Objio Sarraff (Objio) were arrested, indicted, tried, and convicted on three counts of aiding and abetting violations of the drug trafficking laws.1 In addition, Objio was convicted on a charge of violating 18 U.S.C. § 924(c)(1) (1988) (criminalizing the "use[] or carri[age]" of a firearm "during and in relation to any ... drug trafficking crime").
