Gilyard, was indicted in the circuit court of Lake County on three counts of first degree murder (Ill.Rev.Stat.1989, ch. 38, pars. 9-1(a)(1), (a)(2), (a)(3)), two counts of armed violence (Ill.Rev.Stat.1989, ch. 38, par. 33A-2)), one count of home invasion (Ill.Rev.Stat.1989, ch. 38, par. 12-11(a)(2)), and one count of unlawful use of weapons by a felon (Ill. Rev.Stat.1989, ch. 38, par. 24-1.1...
