The appellant, Ky Van Vo, was convicted of murder, a violation of § 13A-6-2, Code of Alabama 1975, and of assault in the first degree, a violation of § 13A-6-20, Code of Alabama 1975. He was sentenced to life in prison on the murder conviction and 20 years in prison on the assault conviction.
