Plaintiff, personal representative of the deceased patient, appeals from the judgment entered on a jury's verdict in favor of defendant physician in this medical malpractice action. Plaintiff alleged that the decedent was injured by defendant's negligence in leaving a surgical sponge in her abdomen while performing an operation on her. Plaintiff also named Good Samaritan Hospital, where the surgery was performed, as a defendant. However...
