Jeffrey Masson's odyssey through the federal courts continues. On remand from the Supreme Court, ___ U.S. ___, 111 S.Ct. 2419, 2437, 115 L.Ed.2d 447 (1991), we consider what responsibility, if any, publishers have to purge defamatory material from stories submitted to them by free-lance writers.
