On September 24, 1991, following a jury trial in the circuit court of Logan County, defendant Mark C. Melton was convicted of residential burglary (Ill.Rev.Stat.1991, ch. 38, par. 19-3(a)). He was subsequently sentenced to a term of 10 years' imprisonment.

On appeal, defendant maintains (1) the prosecutor committed reversible error by telling the jury it was defendant's duty to call nonalibi witnesses...
