SUMMARY

On August 22, 1978, Edward Krevitz, a young executive, was killed when a forklift he was operating overturned while he was maneuvering it on a city of Philadelphia street behind his place of business.

Sandra Krevitz, representing the estate, sued the city, alleging that the street was repaved defectively, creating a soft spot that led to the overturn. Plaintiff's counsel wrote a letter to the forklift...
