Defendants, Lester Carroll (Carroll), Alan Papendik (Alan), Brian Papendik (Brian), and Richard Ausmus (Ausmus), were given separate jury trials and found guilty of attempt (murder), aggravated criminal sexual assault, aggravated battery, and aggravated kidnapping. Carroll, Alan and Ausmus were each given sentences of 40 years on the attempt (murder) conviction and 35 years on the aggravated criminal sexual assault...
