The appellant, James Reginald English, was convicted of the following offenses: 1) the unlawful distribution of cocaine, for which he was fined $1,500 and was sentenced to ten years' imprisonment; 2) the unlawful possession of cocaine, for which he was fined $1,000 and was sentenced to ten years' imprisonment; and 3) the unlawful possession of marijuana in the second degree, for which he was sentenced to 12 months' hard labor in the county jail.
