OVERTON, Justice.

The State seeks review of State v. MacLeod, 583 So.2d 701 (Fla. 1st DCA 1991), in which the district court held that the State may not appeal an order denying restitution because that order does not result in an illegal sentence. The district court certified the following question as one of great public importance:
