ORDER AND OPINION

DOUMAR, District Judge.

This case comes before the Court on defendant's motion for summary judgment. Plaintiff, proceeding pro se, brought this action pursuant to 42 U.S.C. § 1983 to redress alleged violations of his eighth amendment right to be free from cruel and unusual punishment. Plaintiff alleges that he received inadequate medical treatment when he was imprisoned at the Chesapeake City Jail.1
