DUDLEY, Justice.

The appellant, Todd Swanson, was convicted of rape and burglary and was sentenced to thirty (30) years in prison. Although the sentence is not for "more than 30 years imprisonment," as prescribed by Rule 29(1)(b) of the Rules of the Supreme Court and Court of Appeals, we accepted appellate jurisdiction on the basis of the appellant's statement that the case involves DNA profile evidence, an issue of significant public interest and major legal importance...
