MEYERS, Justice.

Appellant, Patricia Lynn Patterson, was found guilty by a jury of the offense of injury to a child. See Tex.Penal Code Ann. § 22.04(a)(2) and (b)(1) (Vernon Supp.1992). The court assessed punishment at fortynine years confinement in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice, Institutional Division.
