In this original proceeding, we must determine whether the Texas Constitution prevents Relator Jeff Wentworth from serving as a state senator in the Texas legislature. The legislative term would overlap, by twenty-one days, Wentworth's previous term of appointment to the Board of Regents of the Texas State University System.
