LOKEN, Circuit Judge.

Roger Roy Nolan, who is serving a life sentence for killing a kidnap victim, appeals the denial of his petition for a writ of habeas corpus. Nolan argues that the district court1 erred in ruling that two of his habeas claims are procedurally barred and that ineffective assistance of counsel did not taint his guilty plea. We affirm.
