OPINION

KELLEHER, Justice.

The defendant, Ernest Sanders (Sanders), was charged with two counts of first-degree sexual assault. Trial commenced before a jury sitting in Providence County on June 12, 1990. On June 14, 1990, the jury returned with a guilty verdict on one count and a not-guilty verdict on the other count. Sanders is now before this court on appeal whereby he claims that the trial justice abused his discretion by permitting the victim's sister...
