Johnny E. Wavrick filed a motion to dismiss a charge of lewd and lascivious conduct with a minor in case No. 10523, and a separate motion to dismiss a charge that he violated the terms of his probation in case No. 8788. Both motions were based on Wavrick's assertion that he had been deprived of his right to a speedy disposition of the charges. The district court denied the motions and Wavrick was subsequently found guilty of lewd conduct with a minor...
