A federal indictment accused Edward F. Balfany of sexually abusing a girl under the age of twelve on four different occasions. A jury ultimately found Balfany guilty of four counts of aggravated sexual assault in violation of 18 U.S.C. §§ 1153, 2241(c) & 2245, and the district court sentenced him to 168 months in prison.
