OPINION

BUTTS, Justice.

This is an appeal of a felony murder conviction. TEX.PENAL CODE ANN. § 19.02(a)(3) (Vernon 1989). After the jury returned a guilty verdict, the trial court assessed punishment at 50 years' imprisonment.
