On September 8, 1988, the defendant Figgins was arrested on a charge of felony escape. He was then taken to the Raytown Police Department for questioning. Before the questioning began, his tennis shoes were seized. The police seized them in order to make a shoe print comparison with the footprint left at the scene of a murder they were investigating...
