The defendant, Abram Banks, was charged by bill of information with armed robbery, a violation of LSA-R.S. 14:64. He pled not guilty and, after trial by jury, was found guilty as charged on September 4, 1991. After a hearing, Banks was adjudicated a second felony habitual offender. He was sentenced to sixty-five years at hard labor without benefit of parole, probation, or suspension of sentence with credit for time served. See LSA-R.S. 15:529...
