This capital case arose from the death of four-year-old Eddie Eugene Brown and the subsequent conviction of his father for first-degree murder, as well as for child neglect.1 After careful review, we have reached the conclusion that the evidence introduced at trial is not sufficient to support a conviction for first-degree murder.
