On April 26, 1990, the defendant was charged by bill of information with violation of R.S. 14:51 aggravated arson. He was arraigned April 30, 1990 and pled not guilty. He filed motions to suppress a confession, an identification and the evidence. The motions were denied August 29, 1990. The case proceeded to trial, but a mistrial was declared on January 15, 1991.
