Claimant, Hayward Rorie, filed an application for adjustment of claim pursuant to the Workers' Occupational Diseases Act (Ill.Rev.Stat.1983, ch. 48, par. 172.36 et seq.) (the Act), in which he alleged that he had contracted leukemia as a result of his exposure to the chemical benzene while in the course of his employment with the respondent, Service Adhesive Company.
