Justice MANNING delivered the opinion of the court:

Defendant, Christopher Crisp, was convicted in a jury trial of attempt first degree murder, armed violence, and aggravated battery. He was sentenced to concurrent terms of 28 years for attempt first degree murder, 28 years for armed violence and five years for aggravated battery, to be merged into the Class X sentence.
