This petition for a writ of habeas corpus was brought by Daron S. Pailin (Pailin) to obtain his discharge from the allegedly unlawful custody of the respondent, George Vose, director of the Rhode Island Department of Corrections. The defendant is currently serving a sentence in the Adult Correctional Institutions for a 1987 robbery conviction that was upheld on direct appeal in State v. Pailon, 590 A.2d 858...
