Plaintiff Michael Gorman brought this civil rights lawsuit against the defendants after they discharged him from his position at the Chicago Housing Authority ("CHA"). Gorman had worked at the CHA from 1965 until his discharge in 1986 and for most of that time he had acted as the CHA's Assistant Purchasing Agent.
