Justice COOK delivered the opinion of the court:

A Macon County information charged defendant James White with reckless homicide (Ill.Rev.Stat.1991, ch. 38, pars. 9-3(a), (e)) and driving while his driver's license was revoked (Ill.Rev.Stat.1991, ch. 95½, par. 6-303). Defendant pleaded guilty to the latter charge and was sentenced to 364 days of imprisonment. After a bench trial, defendant was found guilty of reckless homicide and sentenced to 10 years of imprisonment...
