The plaintiff, Karen P. Ault, filed a complaint alleging fraud and deceit on the part of the defendant, C.C. Services, Inc. The defendant filed a motion to dismiss the complaint for failure to state a cause of action pursuant to section 2-615 of the Code of Civil Procedure (Ill.Rev.Stat.1991, ch. 110, par. 2-615).
