Following a bench trial, defendant was convicted of aggravated battery of a child (Ill.Rev.Stat.1989, ch. 38, par. 12-4.3(a)) and sentenced to six years' imprisonment. On appeal, defendant argues that his conviction should be reversed because the State's evidence was insufficient to prove him guilty beyond a reasonable doubt. In the alternative, defendant contends that he is entitled to a new sentencing hearing...
