The accident which gave rise to this litigation occurred on Tuesday, July 5, 1988 at approximately 6:00 P.M. in the Town of Destrehan, in the Parish of St. Charles on U.S. Highway 61 (also known as the Airline Highway) at its intersection with Ormond Boulevard. The intersection was controlled by signal lights on the date of the accident. There is a designated left turn lane for traffic heading west on Airline Highway to turn onto Ormond Boulevard...
