Robinson appeal their convictions of assault, D.C.Code § 22-504 (Repl.1989), on the grounds that the trial judge erred by proceeding with the trial in the absence of appellant Robinson, and by excluding evidence of the complainant's prior assaultive behavior and the nature of the place where the assault occurred in support of their defense of a third person...
