Eugene Hogan (appellant) appeals from his bench trial convictions by the Circuit Court of the City of Virginia Beach (trial court) for possession of cocaine and possession of cocaine with intent to distribute. The possession charge resulted from appellant's arrest on January 14, 1989, and the intent to distribute charge occurred on May 5, 1989.
