Defendant Terry M. Schlade owned a Chicago condominium, which he leased to Rene Rivero. Plaintiff Kuwako Uehara owned the condominium directly below Schlade's. After a fire in Schlade's unit, Uehara filed a negligence suit against Schlade and Rivero for damages to her condominium and to her personal property resulting from the fire department's efforts in putting out the fire as well as for loss of use and incidental...
