The appellant was charged with the offense of aggravated assault. After entering a plea of not guilty he was convicted and sentenced by a jury. The jury assessed punishment, enhanced under TEX. PENAL CODE ANN. § 12.42 (Vernon Supp. 1992), at confinement for fourteen years.
