Defendant, Mary Ann Michel, was charged by indictment with one count of filing a fraudulent retailers' occupation tax return and one count of signing a fraudulent retailers' occupation tax return. (Ill. Rev.Stat.1989, ch. 120, par. 452.) Following a bench trial in the circuit court of Jo Daviess County, defendant was found guilty of both counts.
